Abstract
Of all semen parameters, sperm morphology seems to be one of the most powerful indicators of a man¢¥s fertilizing potential. The aim of this study was to analyze the assessment of semen parameter and strict morphology before and after sperm preperation. A total of 30 semen samples were used. Recovery of motile sperm was used swim-up technique after using two-layer SpermGradTM gradient. Sperm morphology was evaluated with Diff-Quik staining according to the strict criteria.
Sperm preparation(83.9%, 89.4%) showed increase in the motility compared to ejaculate(57.9%, 53.4%) at IVF(in vitro fertilization), ICSI(intracytoplasmic sperm injection) patient. Normal sperm morphology(14.2%, 11%) increased after sperm preparation(21.7, 14.5%). It is lower two and more morphological defect after sperm preparation at IVF(24.7%, 16.6%) and ICSI(47.3%, 29.7%) patient. We studied the defect of sperm parameter and normal sperm morphology for pregnancy rate. High pregnancy in group of higher normal sperm morphology than other condition but no correlation in ICSI patient.
The optimal semen parameter such as high motility and such as high morphology led to increased pregnancy rate.
